What's up, Doc?

Meet Juba and TJ

Juba has been with us since February of 2006.  She was found wandering alongside a back country road in North Carolina.  She had no ID tags and no microchip.  A local vet nearest to the area where she was rescued had no known record of her.  Several fliers with her picture were posted at various shops, and many days were spent going door to door in search of her home.  Continuously scanning Lost ads also proved unsuccessful in locating her owners.

Juba is a beautiful, 70 pound, 7-9-year-old Lab mix.  She is spayed and up-to-date with vaccines.  She is on monthly heartworm prevention and flea and tick control.  In March, of 2006, Juba was tested for heartworm, Lyme's Disease, and Canine Erhlichiosis.  She tested positive with CE, a.k.a., tick fever, and was treated.  Juba was non-symptomatic at the time of testing and so remains to date.  Although she is non-infectious, bi-annual testing is recommended.

Juba is a spirited 'golden girl' with a happy-go-lucky personality!  Her entire body wiggles whenever someone speaks her name.  Her favorite activities include playing tug-of-rope, going for car rides and eating!  She likes to be brushed and she LOVES to be cuddled!  She would be best suited in a home where she would get a lot of attention.  We recommend a home with children over the age of 10.  Juba is crate trained, house trained, and is quite capable of letting herself indoors or out through a pet door.

Indoors she is fine with cats; outdoors she needs light monitoring.  She obeys the command "No chase".  With dogs Juba is the queen of her castle and will compete with other alpha dogs for her position, yet she is a very sociable gal.

Hi!  I'm TJ,

and this is my story:

In late January of 2006 when I was just 8 or 9 months of age

my family moved out of state and left me

chained to a tree!

TJ is a healthy and handsome, 76 pound, 2.5-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix.  He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines.  He is on monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea and tick control.

He gets along very well with other dogs.  He is cat friendly indoors; outdoors he needs light monitoring.  He obeys the command "No chase".  TJ uses a pet door to let himself indoors or out.  He is house trained.

He would be best suited to a home with no small children.  TJ is athletic and will greatly benefit by a confident someone with a sporty lifestyle.  His favorite sport is chasing well thrown Wilson tennis balls.  He is very good at catching a ball mid-air, and he always brings the ball back to the thrower time, after time, after time.

Motor vehicles were not among his favorite things at first.  Knowing too little of his earliest beginnings it is difficult to speculate why he so fearfully reacted to being enclosed.  However, TJ has become less fearful of car rides, and he enjoys rainy-day snoozes inside his outdoor 'clubhouse'.  Sometimes TJ believes he is a lap dog and he thinks nothing of sharing his adorable self.  He'd love to share it all with you!
